Position Summary
Flooring Central is seeking a dependable CDL Class A Driver to safely transport flooring materials, equipment, and jobsite supplies to and from commercial and residential project locations. The ideal candidate will ensure timely deliveries, maintain compliance with DOT regulations, and support field operations in an active construction environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Operate Class A commercial vehicles to transport flooring materials, equipment, and supplies to and from job sites.
- Operate tractor-trailers and other company-assigned equipment as needed (e.g., bobcat, gypcrete pump).
- Load, secure, and inspect cargo to ensure safe and compliant transportation of materials.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report mechanical issues or safety concerns immediately.
- Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery records, and required DOT documentation.
- Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures at all times.
- Coordinate with dispatch, project managers, and site personnel to ensure timely deliveries and material accuracy.
- Operate safely in active construction zones, occupied buildings, and varying job-site conditions.
- Ensure cleanliness and basic maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with loading and unloading flooring materials when required.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Valid CDL Class A license.
- Valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate (DOL-valid medical card).
- Clean driving record in compliance with DOT standards.
- Experience operating tractor-trailers and/or heavy-duty commercial vehicles.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and transportation safety procedures.
- Ability to lift, move, and secure heavy flooring materials and equipment.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in construction environments, including indoor renovation sites and active job locations.
- Willingness to work early mornings, overtime, or weekends as required.
- Prior experience in construction, flooring distribution, or material hauling preferred.
- English speaker and strong work ethics required
