Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. Must live within reasonable commuting distance to Conneaut Lake. Be able to drive manual transmissions and have a couple years of driving experience with a clean driving record. We currently haul lumber, logs, and wood chips. this is a Monday -Friday, home every evening. Competitive, incentive based weekly pay ( not $1.00 as stated above).
Duties
- Operate various types of trucks including flatbed, .
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment such as forklifts. When needed.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.
- Communicate with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all local, state, and federal regulations governing truck driving operations.
Skills
- Proficient in operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of truck driving techniques and safety protocols.
- Experience with flatbeds
- Ability to load and unload cargo efficiently while ensuring the safety of the load.
- Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
