MacBeath Hardwood is looking for a friendly individual to join our delivery team. We strive to exceed our customer’s expectations at every turn, and with order deliveries being the final stage in their experience we want to offer them the best encounter possible. The ideal candidate will be dependable, organized, and friendly with great people skills. This position is for locals deliveries so you will be home every night, but there will be a few times a year where out of state and overnight deliveries will be required.
Responsibilities
- Stage orders, load orders onto truck with forklift, and get the loads checked off before delivery
- Deliver sheet goods and lumber to the customer, which includes assistance with unloading, ensuring delivery of ticket with material, and collecting payment, if necessary
- Pick up customer returns, validating product match for credit requests as necessary
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and report any problems or issues to supervisor, fuel the truck as needed, clean the truck
- Follow planned routes to meet delivery schedule
- Document and log miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
- Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
- Assist in yard and warehouse duties when applicable
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL license
- Able to pass a drug screen
- Can lift 100 lbs. Some physical labor required
- Happy disposition
