CDL-A Driver – Tanker / Sludge Hauling / Vacuum Truck
Skips Wastewater Services is Connecticut’s leading full-service wastewater provider, specializing in septic pumping, system installations, repairs, and inspections. For over 60 years, we’ve proudly served residential, commercial, and municipal customers across the state.
We are seeking a dependable and experienced CDL-A Driver to operate tanker trucks and straight vacuum trucks hauling sludge, septage, and grease between commercial and residential properties, municipalities, and treatment facilities. This role is primarily driving-focused, but requires a hands-on, safety-first mindset and the ability to work independently.
What You’ll Do
- Haul sludge between municipalities and treatment facilities
- Transport grease and septage from commercial/residential properties to treatment facilities
- Operate tractor-trailer tanker (gravity and vacuum systems)
- Operate vacuum straight trucks when needed
- Follow assigned routes, schedules, and delivery instructions from management
- Complete required logs and basic reporting accurately
- Perform pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure safe operation
- Interact professionally with plant operators, customers, and the public
- Maintain clean, well-kept equipment
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- 3 Years of tanker driving experience
- Valid Class A CDL
- Tanker endorsement required
- Experience operating tanker trucks and tractor-trailers
- Experience with manual (standard) transmission required
- Clean driving record
- Strong communication and professionalism
- Ability to lift up to 65 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed (bending, kneeling, lifting, pulling hose)
- Must pass pre-employment drug screening and be subject to random testing
Compensation:
- $30-$35 per hour
