Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a CDL A Flatbed Truck Driver and take charge of delivering freight efficiently and safely across various routes. This role offers an exciting opportunity to operate specialized flatbed trucks, ensuring timely load & unload operations while maintaining the highest standards of safety and professionalism. You will play a vital role in transporting freight using your driving expertise and technical skills, contributing directly to our company’s success. This position is Monday through Friday with 12-14 hour days and you are home nightly. You will start at $28/hour with performance based pay raises.
Duties
- Safely operate a range of commercial vehicles such as tractor-trailers, flatbeds, conestogas, stepdecks and landolls to deliver freight across multiple routes in Michigan, Ohio and Indiana.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment while adhearing to safety protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, engine fluid and load securement.
- Plan efficeint routes using GPS or route planning software to optimize delivery schedules and reduce transit times.
- Drive route schedules confidently, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations while maintaining timely deliveries.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and reports for compliance and record keeping purposes.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate pickups and deliveries while providing excellent customer service.
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the truck and trailer at all times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations and company policies during driving operations.
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving with a valid CDL A license; familiarity with manual transmissions is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of flatbed operations, load securing techniques, including strapping, chians, binders and tarping and freight handling procedures.
- Excellent route driving skills with a focus on safety, efficiency, and punctuality.
- Familiarity with driving regulations related to commercial trucking across different jurisdictions.
- Physical ability to handle loading/unloading tasks and perform vehicle inspections regularly.

Pay: $28.00 per hour
