Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a CDL A Driver, enjoying the flexibility of weekend home time and the excitement of delivering essential freight across various routes. In this role, you’ll operate tractor-trailers equipped for refrigerated, flatbed, or tanker loads, ensuring timely and safe deliveries. Your expertise in manual transmissions and commercial driving will be key to maintaining our high standards of service. This position offers a lively work environment where your driving skills directly contribute to customer satisfaction and operational success.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions across assigned routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and proper handling
- Deliver a variety of freight types including refrigerated goods, flatbed loads, or tanker shipments to designated locations
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety, including checks on brakes, lights, tires, and load securement
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and route documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route updates, delivery schedules, and any issues encountered during trips
- Ensure timely deliveries while maintaining a positive attitude and professional demeanor on the road and at delivery sites
Qualifications
- Valid CDL A license with a clean driving record
- Proven experience in truck driving, preferably with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or similar freight types
- 1 year of experience required
- Skilled in manual transmission operation and familiar with tractor-trailer handling
- Experience with load & unload procedures using forklifts or other equipment; familiarity with dump trucks or roll-off trucks is a plus
- Strong understanding of route driving, safety protocols, and DOT compliance standards
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting freight and securing loads as needed
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with dispatchers and customers effectively
