Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks with automatic transmissions across assigned routes, ensuring compliance with FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) and DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations.
- Use GPS navigation systems to follow optimized routes for timely deliveries and pickups while adjusting plans as needed based on traffic or road conditions.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety standards are met; report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery records in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and route planning for maximum efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license.
- Kowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations related to trucking operations and hazardous materials handling
- Excellent driving skills with a focus on safety, hazard awareness, and defensive driving techniques.
- Ability to handle freight securely during load & unload processes while following proper procedures for dangerous goods or hazardous materials.
- Familiarity with GPS navigation systems for route planning and real-time adjustments.
