Role Purpose

The Cart Driver is responsible for safely transporting passengers within the airport using electric carts or shuttle vehicles. This role provides courteous and efficient mobility assistance to passengers with limited mobility, tight connections, or special assistance needs while ensuring safety, professionalism, and excellent customer service.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Safely operate electric passenger carts or small airport transport vehicles within terminal areas
  • Transport passengers between gates, terminals, baggage claim, parking areas, and other designated locations
  • Assist elderly passengers, individuals with disabilities, families, and travelers with tight connections
  • Provide friendly and professional customer service, including answering basic airport directions
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking the cart safely
  • Ensure carts are clean, charged, and in proper working condition before and after use
  • Follow all airport safety rules, speed limits, and designated travel paths
  • Report mechanical issues, safety concerns, or incidents immediately to supervisors
  • Assist with managing passenger flow during peak travel times or irregular operations
  • Maintain accurate logs of trips or passenger assistance when required
  • Communicate effectively with airport staff, gate agents, and supervisors
  • Perform other duties as requested

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license required (or state/local equivalent)
  • Ability to safely operate electric carts or small vehicles in crowded environments
  • Strong communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Clean driving record
  • Previous driving, transportation, airport, logistics, or customer service experience
  • Airport terminals, ramps, cargo areas, parking facilities, and operational roadways
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions, noise, and heavy operational traffic
  • Fast-paced airport environment with strict operational timelines
  • Frequent interaction with passengers, employees, and airport personnel
  • Ability to sit and operate vehicles for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout shifts
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Must be able to take verbally direct in English
  • Must be able to read, write, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be in proper uniform or business attire as directed by company officials
  • Identification badges must always be visible
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures and participate in achievement of company objectives
