Position Title: Campus Monitor/Bus Driver
Site: Reporting To: Director of Operations

GENERAL SUMMARY:
We are looking to fill a dual role position of a Campus Monitor who also is also a licensed school bus driver. This position include campus monitoring, observing and supporting students during lunch and passing breaks to ensure a safe, secure and comfortable environment conducive to student interaction and learning. Additionally, as a bus driver, driving to and from our two campuses and provide transportation for our athletics program after school hours.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Supervises students during lunch / recess and passing periods, including enforcing school rules, school boundaries, and school behavior expectations
● Ensures a safe environment in the lunch room, school grounds and/or parking lot
● Works with other school staff to ensure sufficient level of supervision coverage in all areas of the lunch room, school yards, and/or parking lot
● Helps mediate and resolve conflicts between students
● Administers first aid as needed
● Helps keep the campus clean
● Identifies any major security or safety hazards and major repair needs in the recess area and ensures safety rules are followed
● Completes accident reports as needed
● Proficiently drive a full size school bus to and from campuses and afterschool athletic events
● Demonstrate knowledge of, and support of OCCA’s mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior
● Perform other related duties as required and assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required knowledge, skills & abilities:
● Good verbal and written communication skills
● Good problem-solving ability; good judgment
● Ability to interact appropriately with children of different ages
Minimum educational level:
● High school diploma or GED
Experience required:
- Licensed School Bus Driver
- Experience observing and supervising K-12 students helpful
Physical requirements and Work environment:
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds (cones, tables, equipment, supplies, etc.).
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time throughout the school day.
- Frequent movement across campus, including indoor classrooms, hallways, parking lots, playgrounds, and athletic areas.
- Ability to work in an outdoor environment in varying weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, light rain).
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach as needed.
- Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
- Ability to maintain alertness and awareness throughout the shift.
- Work may involve exposure to moderate noise levels (recess, lunch, traffic areas).
- Must be able to visually and audibly monitor student activity across campus.
- Occasional attendance at after-school events, athletics, or special programs may be required.

Pay: $18.50 – $19.50 per hour
